In science we are learning about the order edentata. This is my Armadillo. I drew him for school because armadillos are in the order edentata, which means "no teeth." Armadillos love to eat ants. They have a long sticky tongue, which ants stick to. Then they can eat them. Most armadillos are fast runners. The three banded armadillo can roll into a ball. They are also good swimmers. They can stay under water, walking along the bottom of rivers and streams for 6 minutes. Since they can't float very well, they blow themselves up with air and float. The armadillo sometimes carries leprosy. The armadillo that I drew is on his path on his way home to his hole. He was out for lunch with his friend rabbit who lives among the trees. They had ants and plants for lunch. They also had raspberry tea. The man who owns the meadow is mowing, but he has not seen armadillo's path so the grass still hides the armadillo while he is on his way home. When he gets home he will take a nap. Please be quiet so he can sleep...the end.
